Time and time again, we hear about illegal development, illegal clearing of hills and how some demolish buildings indiscriminately.
Once again, we see evidence of poor enforcement.
There is no point holding a press conference if officials do not monitor areas which should be the case.
So what has happened? Clearing TWO HECTARES of vegetation without any one knowing?
Who is responsible for this debacle? Shameful!

GEORGE TOWN, June 12, 2015:
The state government, through the Penang Island City Council (MBPP), has issued a stop -work order on Bukit Laksamana, a water catchment area in Teluk Bahang, which was recently found to have been illegally developed.
Local government and Traffic Management Committee chairman Chow Kon Yeow today said engineers had gone to the site to verify reports on land clearing there.
Chow, however, explained that the stop-work order did not mean halting ongoing works, but to carry out mitigation works as directed in the stop-work order.
“If the works involved are the works stipulated in the stop-work order, it will be acceptable by the council.
“Beyond that it would not be acceptable, ” Chow told a press conference in Komtar here today.
He added that the council will issue a full statement on what in happening in Bukit Laksamana for a better understanding.
Chow also said that he had given directive to the council to tear down any structure, if there was any, as there was no approval for any type of work on the site.
When asked who was behind the clearing, Chow said based on site inspection, it was probably for the purpose of agriculture.
The issue of illegal development on Bukit Laksamana, a water catchment for the Teluk Bahang Dam, was first brought up during the recent state assembly sitting.
More than two hectares had been cleared of vegetation.
Yesterday, a group of reporters visited the area with Teluk Bahang assemblyman Datuk Shah Headan Ayoob Hussain Shah and found some parts of the land cemented and three partially completed buildings.
